Green Synthesis and Characterization of Crystalline CuO Nanoparticles using Aqueous Mentha Piperita L. Leaf Extract

Copper oxide nanoparticles are essential technology materials that utilized as catalysts in the chemical industry, well photonic and electronic devices medical applications. Due to their applications advanced technologies, we have concentrated on production of CuO using enhanced, cost-effective, environmentally friendly synthetic techniques. In this paper, presented a green synthesis technique successfully copper (CuO NPs) utilizing (II) sulfate pentahydrate (CuSO4.5H2O) precursor salt Mentha Piperita leaf extract reducing stabilizing agent during process. The solution were mixed 1:1 volume ratio at 50 °C. NPs synthesized confirmed by characteristics Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) peak UV-visible region. Also, optical direct band gap energy determined from Tauc plot was 3.26 eV. FTIR spectrum analysis existence functional groups polyphenols piperita L. extract, which responsible for reduction Cu2+ ions effective stabilization NPs. All peaks observed XRD pattern revealed having monoclinic structure with an average crystallite size 42.51 nm. surface morphology detected SEM analysis. Further, mechanism has also been investigated.
